the Location
Hopkins is a small village on the coast of the Stann Creek District in the south east region of Belize and is commonly referred to as “the coast with the most." The village lies south of the town of Dangriga and the airport. It is considered by Belizeans to be rich with culture and an epicenter of the Garifuna population as many descendants of the original setters still reside in the village.
Hopkins welcomes visitors with warm hospitality and a safe environment. It was recently voted as “the friendliest village in Belize."
With over 1,000 residents you'll get the opportunity to experience local mom and pop shops, small intimate bars and rustic beaches nestled next to some of the best dive sites in the country. Hopkins is supported by fishing, farming and the hospitality industry.
Hopkins Village is separated into two main transects; the Northside (Baila) and the Southside (False Sittee). It is surrounded by the Maya Mountains, the Cockscomb Range inland and the Caribbean Sea which together make the area picturesque.

Top 5 Things to Do
Cultural tourism is thriving in Hopkins as visitors rave about the authentic smiling faces, crystal clear waters and access to adventure. There are several things to do in addition to our structured wellness days, which you can choose to add in.
Here are the top 5 activities we suggest.
-
Bike to town and explore a new, flavorful way of life with Belize's Afro-Caribbean influence. The Garifuna people love to share their traditional roots in the ways they cook, speak, drum and dance.
-
Snorkel the longest living coral reef in the western hemisphere while encountering eagle rays, sea turtles, exotic fish, dolphins and an entire underwater ecosystem.
-
Hike amongst Mayan ruins at Xunantunich, Caracol, Lamanai or several others within driving distance.
-
Spend a day exploring Mayflower Bocawina National Park where you can sore through the air on a Zipline, hike up to 5 different waterfalls and view 290 species of birds.
-
Learn to make a sweet aphrodisiac. Get a hands on lesson in making Mayan chocolate the traditional way while hearing stories of cocoa's early 900 AD discovery.
If you're craving more relaxation book a massage and enjoy the spa onsite. Note: services are in addition to the trip cost.
